Refugees Football
We created a football team for IDPs, “Mriya,” and we attract men and boys to it. The team plays matches in Hostomel, a city near Bucha and Irpin. Thanks to the Social Protection Department of the Hostomel Community Administration, we attract families of IDPs from Hostomel, Gorenka and Moshchun to the stadium. There are Master Classes for kids, quizzes, and prize draws for adults. Famous visitors of the Home Games give autograph sessions. These events expand the circles of communication for IDPs, become a platform for exchanging information, finding new ways for growth and development prospects, and give IDPs psychological relief. Each home game gathers about 200 fans, and this is an almost full Stadium. The Team has gone through a series of regional and regional leagues and is now playing in the Amateur Championship of Ukraine – the last step before professional football. Ambassadors of “Mriya” are singer Yarmak, TV presenter Igor Kondratyuk, basketball player Slava Medvedenko, football players Bohdan Butko, Oleksandr Karavayev, coaches Oleksandr Khatskevich and Yuriy Maksimov.
